Hiring: Creative Coordinator

Job Description

Exile International is seeking a qualified and passionate Creative Coordinator to come alongside EI and partner with us in restoring rescued child survivors of war to become leaders for peace through art-focused trauma care and holistic, rehabilitative care.

The Creative Coordinator must be motivated and passionate about using their skills to advance the mission of Exile International. He/she is not simply a designer, nor a communicator. They are both. Using a communication design approach – the creative coordinator expresses the message, mission, and work of Exile using the aesthetics of media and ensures the message communicates with the target audience.

A successful Creative Coordinator for Exile International will bring passion, creative ideas, and skill to the team – utilizing Exile’s voice and design language as well as a design communication approach to inform, engage and activate both current and future partners.

The Creative Coordinator is a Full–Time, Nashville based position, working closely with Exile’s Creative Team to oversee and facilitate Exile’s social media editing and strategy, monthly blogs and e-blasts, and campaigns.

Key Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Monthly Blogs & Newsletters (e-blasts) *regular, non-campaign months

  • 1 blog / month & corresponding graphics (including homepage slider)
  • 2 e-blasts / month — (with at least 1 corresponding blog)

Social Media Editing & Strategy  

  • 6-8 social media posts per week plus creation and posting to stories
  • Weekly Social Media copy & content editing
  • 1 unique short video a month (15-60 seconds)

6 Campaigns Per Year 

  • Per campaign-
    • We want you to help us restore live more than ever before!
      • Utilizing prior year campaign as a base – (similar number of e-blasts, posts and other design collateral) to develop a campaign of greater quality and effectiveness.
    • Provide strategy development, planning and creative feedback to EI team
    • 3-4 e-blasts — written and designed
    • 1-2 unique videos (45-90 seconds)
    • Building a campaign page for each campaign
    • The goal for each campaign – 10% or more increase in audience engagement and campaign outcome over comparable, prior-year campaigns. Ex:
      • From 20% click rate on campaign emails to 22% or greater.
      • From $20,000 raised to provide care for 20 child survivors of war to $22,000 raised to care for 22 children.
    • In-person availability for three, 24 hour give campaigns to coordinate directly with the EI Nashville team and helping foster a successful, active engagement via social media.
  • Yearly Campaigns:
    • Valentines (Child Sponsorship Campaign)— February
    • Big Payback — May
    • Birthday month (Restore Campaign) — August
    • Orphan Care Awareness — November
    • #GivingTuesday –– November or December (depending on calendar year)
    • Year-End/Christmas Campaign — November/December

Additional Creative Design & Responsibilities

Additional projects may include, but are not limited too:

  • Attend weekly creative meeting & team meetings
  • Basic website updates
  • Graphics for the website
  • One-pagers (communicating the mission, testimonials, engagement opportunities, etc.)
  • Print material and additional collateral
  • Additional misc. projects



Talents Required

  • Committed to the mission and vision of Exile International;
  • Strong attention to detail & a commitment to accuracy;
  • Experience creating and managing brand identities; ability to learn and communicate using the organization’s voice (through design and copy);
  • Self-starter and motivated team player with the confidence to take the lead on projects;
  • Teachable and open to feedback, bringing a positive attitude;
  • Adaptable to changing demands/deadlines/priorities;
  • Creative problem solver that possesses great ability to identify potential crises and apply conflict resolution principles to mitigate issues;
  • Mature orthodox Christian faith, as indicated by an agreement with EI’s Statement of Faith;

Skills Desired

  • Proficient experience in Microsoft Office, the Adobe Creative Suite, Emma (or comparable email software), dropbox, and web editing software (bonus points for WordPress website experience);
  • Demonstrates creativity and documented proficiency on social media (specifically; Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube) –– including up to date knowledge of:
      • The best content to promote on various respective Social Media platforms;
      • Best times to promote content;
      • Frequency of promoting on various Social Media platforms;
      • Growing/changing trends on Social Media platforms;
  • Experience creating and running a 24-hour giving campaign;
  • Ability to operate as project lead with Independent Contractors and EI staff (International & Domestic) to plan and carry out projects to completion;
  • Knowledge of Google Docs;
  • Basic graphic design knowledge;
  • Marketing skills and experience;
  • Basic video editing knowledge

Experience Preferred

  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience managing and growing a brand/organization’s Social Media platforms;
  • History of success managing multiple projects in a professional setting with little supervision of the day-to-day;
  • Ability to present quality projects for approval/feedback and meet stated deadlines

This is a full-time, Nashville based position, working Monday through Friday, along with some evenings and weekends (as needed).
