Exile is 12 years old – so is Julie!
“My name is Julie, and I am 12 years old. I arrived at Exile in April 2015, after being separated from my parents because of the war. I used to have six siblings. My brother was killed during the war. We lost so many people, and I lost hope for the future.
I was gladly welcomed at Exile, and I could not believe that we could sleep without hearing gunshots through the night. I am so happy to have such a big family at Exile who loves and cares for me. Whenever I get sick, I am given medicine to recover. I am able to attend school and am currently in grade five.
When I grow up, I want to become a teacher!
