Red Hand Day

Each year, on February 12th, we come together to observe Red Hand Day — a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the trafficking of child soldiers and advocating for their protection. We invite you to join us in making a difference by participating in this powerful day of action.

Here are three meaningful ways you can help raise awareness for child soldiers:

1. Create & Share Your Red Hand:

Make your mark and show your support for child soldiers! There are many ways to create a red hand:

  • Paint your hand red and stamp it on paper.

  • Trace your hand on red paper and cut it out.

  • Draw a red hand using markers or crayons. Then, snap a photo of your red hand creation and share it on social media with the hashtags #RedHandDay, #FreeCongo and @ExileIntl to raise awareness.

2. Host a Red Hand Day Activity:

Engage your community in support of child soldiers by organizing a Red Hand Day event:

  • Create a red hand wall where participants can add their handprints.

  • Set up a letter-writing station to advocate for the rehabilitation of child soldiers.

  • Host a screening of child soldier survivor stories to educate and inspire others.

3. Support War-Affected Children:

Your generosity helps provide art focused trauma care, education, and leadership training to war-affected children. With your gifts, Exile International can continue to restore lives and offer these young survivors the opportunity to heal and thrive.
