Faith’s Story: From Fear to Peace

Faith’s journey was marked by fear and unimaginable pain, but hope never left her heart. At just 13 years old, her life changed when violence tore through her village and she was separated from her family. In the midst of trauma and suffering, Faith held tightly to prayer — dreaming of the day she would see her parents and siblings again.

By the grace of God, she found her family and was reunited with the ones she loved. But safety was still uncertain, and they eventually fled to Goma in search of a new beginning. Life there was difficult, with very little money and constant struggle — until Faith was connected to Exile International.

At Exile, Faith found healing. Through art-focused trauma care programs, peace building, leadership development, and education, she discovered peace, strength, and leadership. As her heart began to heal, she learned how to forgive, to love, and to bring peace to those around her.

Today, Faith loves singing during worship and is training to become a tailor — gaining skills that will help shape a hopeful future.

“I have hope for a bright future! I thank God for Exile International and the love and care they brought to me.”

Faith’s story is a powerful reminder that healing is possible — and hope can rise, even after the deepest pain.
