My name is Janet

janet

My name is Janet.

I was abducted in August on a Saturday at 4 am. I was just 11 years old.

I was so scared because children were being burnt in their houses.

Later, my friends tried to escape. They were killed right in front of us using a machete… even the rebels made some of us kill them… so that we would learn not to escape.

Because we were young… we feared them so much…

and because of that… we did not try to escape.

Sometimes we would walk for 2 days and nights without food or rest.

Many children died because they were hungry, tired, weak or wounded.

Many of the girls were taken and forced to be wives and slaves for the rebels… sometimes becoming pregnant and having children at very young ages.

But today…

Today I thank God who brought me out of that situation alive.

I am now receiving healing for my many heart wounds.

I am now able to have safety, food, bible study, and I am even able to go to school.

I know God loves me.

I am the luckiest girl in the world.

“My name is Janet…
I am the luckiest girl in the world.”
