As a child, Evelyne experienced profound loss. During conflict from the war, she lost both of her parents, and the weight of grief and trauma consumed her world.
“I lost my hope,” she recalls. “The level of trauma was increasing.”
Her heart was heavy with pain. She stopped laughing. She struggled to forgive. Silence replaced connection, and isolation became her refuge. For a long time, Evelyne felt broken and alone.
Everything began to change when she joined EI’s program.
Through art-focused trauma care, education, and holistic support, Evelyne slowly began to heal. She was enrolled in school and later participated in Ready for Work training – equipping her with practical skills and helping her regain confidence and stability for the future.
“Once I had the opportunity to join Exile’s programs, many things changed in my life.”
Hope, once lost, was restored. Healing took root, Evelyne began to open her heart again – to others, to her future, and to the possibility of joy.
Today, Evelyne speaks with gratitude and faith. She sees Exile International as a pathway God used to bring restoration to her life.
“I thank Exile for being the path God used to bring healing and restoration to my life.”
Her journey is a reminder of what’s possible when compassion meets commitment—and when survivors of war are given the care and support they deserve.
“May the Lord bless you.” - Evelyne
