Meet Alexandra

Exile is 12 years old – so is Alexandra!

“My name is Alexandra, and I am 12 years old. I arrived at Exile in April of 2015. I lost both of my parents in the war. During the war, we experienced a lot of very terrible things. Houses were looted and set on fire. People were killed. Women and girls were terribly mistreated in front of their families. Many died from diseases because they could not receive medical care. We spent many nights outside in the cold and rain. Escaping to the bush was safer than sleeping in our own house.

When I arrived at Exile in 2015, I was welcomed with open arms and love. I could not believe such a peaceful place existed! I slept in a bed for the first time in a very long time. When it was time to go to sleep, instead of gunshots and screams, it was safe. It was quiet and peaceful.

I love being at Exile International because I feel so loved. They care for me and all the children here. If we are sick, the nurses and staff cares for us. We never go hungry because there is good food and clean water. Each day we read the Word of God and we know our Father loves us!

I love going to school and learning! When I grow up, I hope to become a medical doctor so I can care for people who are sick and help many become healthy.

May God bless you for all you do for us.”  – Alexandra
